Fond du Lac boys win regional title
Division 1 Plymouth regional: The Fond du Lac boys track and field team won Tuesday’s WIAA Division 1 regional track and field meet hosted by Plymouth, finishing with 184 points as a team.
The Cardinals easily bested Hartford Union, which finished with 107.5 points.
Fond du Lac was led by its relay teams on Tuesday, with the 4X100-, 4X200- and 4X400-meter relays all qualifying for sectionals.
The 4X100 relay composed of Kyle Pierce, Quinn Woelfel, Nick Park and Trey Halfmann finished first with a time of 43.90 seconds, while the 4X400 of Luke Curran, Brian Luteyn, Kyle Marcoe and Trey Halfmann was first with a time of 3:27.60.
The 4X200 relay finished second
Nick Park won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.52 seconds, while Kyle Pierce finished first in the long jump (20-04.75) and triple jump (41-10.50). Peter Andrew won the shot put (57-00.25) and discus throw (157-09).
Also qualifying for sectionals was Austin McCrory (200-meter dash), Kyle Marcoe (400-meter dash), Brian Luteyn (110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles), Justin Maratik (300-meter hurdles), Jimmie Diener (high jump), Trey Halfmann (triple jump), Eddie Negron (triple jump), Jason Toshner (shot put) and Wyatt Holzman (discus throw).
