Fondy girls fifth at FVA meet
The Fondy girls finished fifth overall, just 1.5 points behind Neenah. Kimberly won the girls title with 170 points followed by Appleton North (136) and Kaukauna (85.5).
Annie Moore was the Cardinals top individual finisher taking third in the 1,600 meters, while Ally Gietzel in the long jump and Madeline Bahr in the discus were each fourth.
Fond du Lac’s 3,200-meter relay team of Moore, Gietzel, Madison Hughes and Liz Ziegler was also third.

Both the Fond du Lac boys and girls track and field teams finished in third place at the Fox Valley Association Relays on Monday, which the Cardinals hosted.
The boys scored 98.33 points, while the girls came in with 71.33 points. Kimberly won both the boys and girls meets.
For the girls,
4X100-meter field relay team of April Britton, Jayden Sawyer, Sarah Moore and Aleah Wendels finished first (55.64).
Katie Retzlaff was third in the 300-meter hurdles relay
4X400-meter relay also finished third.
800-meter sprint medley took second
Ally Gietzel was third in the long jump relay

The Fond du Lac girls track and field team placed second with a score of 33 points at the Kaukauna Triangular Tuesday night.
Miranda Zipp placed first in the 100-meter dash
Shannon Doyle took first in high jump.
The 4X100-meter relay team also finished first.

The Fond du Lac boys and girls track and field teams each took first place at their home triangular on Tuesday evening.
The girls ended the night with a team score of 68.5, while the boys had 70 to edge Kimberly by one point and take the win.
First-place finishers for the girls were Nicole Lord (100-meter dash, 200-meter dash), Liz Ziegler (1,600-meter run), Katie Rezlaff (100-meter hurdles), Amber Wells (300-meter hurdles), and Amelia Wehner (high jump).
First-place finishers for the boys included: Alex Balthazor (200-meter dash), Noah Tagliapietra (800-meter run), Bryton Koepke (1600-meter run), Jimmie Diener (300-meter hurdles, high jump), Zach Emmer (pole vault), Donte Johnson (shot put), and the 4X800-meter relay team.

The Fond du Lac girls track and field team finished second with 77.5 points. West Bend West won the meet with 106 points.
Annie Moore won the 1,600-meter run (5:20.28) and was second in the 800-meter run. Brooke McDowell finished first in the 300-meter hurdles (50.41).
The 4X800-meter relay of Madison Hughes, Jasmine Watters, Liz Ziegler and Moore was second. Nicole Lord took second in the long jump.
Fond du Lac girls track and field wins quad
The Fond du Lac girls track and field team took first place with a team score of 90.5 points at their home quadrangular on Tuesday.
Neenah placed second with 61, Appleton West third with 51.5 and Kaukauna fourth with 47.
Annie Moore placed first in the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs.
Katie Retzlaff placed first in the 100-meter hurdles, and Brooke McDowell placed first in the 300-meter hurdles.
Ally Gietzel placed first in long jump, while Maddie Bahr placed first in discus. The 4X200-meter relay team also placed first.

The Fond du Lac girls placed first with 83.5 points

Preseason Outlook
The Cardinals return three state qualifiers in senior Annie Moore (800-meter run, 1600-meter run, 4X800-meter relay) and sophomores Ally Gietzel (800, 4X800) and Nicole Lord (long jump).
Other senior returners include Hope Adelmeyer (pole vault), Maddie Bahr (throws), Miranda Zipp (hurdles), Savannah Raddatz (high jump, sprints), Abby Endries (sprints), and Morgan Endries (sprints).
Junior sprinters Katie Retzlaff, Bailey Tracy, Aleah Wendels, Toni Winkler, and Emily Ziegler return for Fondy along with distance runner Jasmine Watters.
Rounding out the returners are sophomores Sarah Moore (high jump, triple jump), Amber Wells (hurdles), and Natalie Hencke (distance).
Fond du Lac lost five seniors, including state qualifiers in the 4X800-meter relay, Jennie Bestor and Megan Buechel, but coach Jena Weigel has a group of freshmen who have “already shown their competitiveness and fight in the first couple meets” and are ready to step up.
This group includes Ashley Arndt (hurdles), Brooke McDowell (hurdles, sprints), Merry Metivier (throws), Kiya Petik (sprints), Amelia Wehner (high jump, sprints), Nina Winkler (sprints), and distance runners Madison Hughes, Sarah Schaefer and Liz Ziegler.
Weigel expects her youthful squad to develop over the season with the help of strong leadership from returning juniors and seniors and knows she has many athletes who can make an impact in a variety of events.
Annie Moore, Ally Gietzel spark Cardinals at UW-Oshkosh invite
OSHKOSH – Annie Moore finished second in the 1,600 meters and Ally Gietzel had a strong all-around night to lead Fond du Lac to a seventh-place finish at the UW-Oshkosh Large School Invitational at Kolf Sports Center on Monday.
Moore finished about two seconds behind Green Bay East’s Maddy Sweeney to take second, while she also picked up a sixth-place finish in the 800 meters.
Gietzel finished in the top 10 in three different events, highlighted by a third-place finish in the 400 meters, while joining Moore in the 800 meters with a 10th place.
Gietzel also finished fifth in the long jump, where she paired with teammate Nicole Lord, who placed fourth.
Other top finishers for the Cardinals were from Liz Ziegler, who was sixth in the 3,200 meters; Amelia Wehner, who was seventh in the high jump; Katie Retzlaff, who was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles; and Hope Adelmayer, who tied for ninth in the pole vault.
The Cardinals scored 32 points and edged Green Bay Preble by a half-point for seventh place among the 23 teams that scored.
Fellow FVA member Kimberly won the meet with 56.5 points, while Stevens Point finished a distant second. Kaukauna was the only other FVA team in the top 10, placing ninth.
Ally Gietzel, Nicole Lord lead Fondy at Manitowoc invite
MANITOWOC – Ally Gietzel and Nicole Lord finished first and second, respectively, in the long jump to lead Fond du Lac to a second-place finish at the Pam Kjono Invitational hosted by Manitowoc Lincoln on Friday afternoon.
Amelia Wehner and Sarah Moore finished first and third, respectively, in the high jump for the Cardinals, while Liz Ziegler and Madison Hughes were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Lord had a strong day overall as she also finished second in the 55 meters and fourth in the 200 meters, while Gietzel was third in the 400 meters and Moore was fourth in the triple jump.
Miranda Zipp also grabbed a top finish, placing fourth in the 55-meter hurdles for Fond du Lac.
Appleton North finished with 105 points to win the team title, while the Cardinals scored 91. Two Rivers was third with 78 points, followed by Manitowoc Lincoln and Kaukauna.
