WIAA Regional Game at Kimberly

The girls battled all game. When we played 1-2 touch we had some great link ups and chances on net. Their attack on the ball and movement off the ball was just too much for us. Olivia Dilling made 15 saves.
Thank you to our 6 seniors:

Olivia Dilling
Delaney Sponholz

Goals scored by: Brooklyn Wood(assist Aurora Santana), Ari Rademann(assist McKayla Blaine), Delaney Sponholz (free kick), and Francesca Parker (PK).
.
Neenah 2 Fond du Lac 0
Halftime 0-2
Linked up in our attack very well, but just couldn’t put anything away. First 15 minutes were where they scored and then we began to settle in. Need to start games off better so we don’t put ourselves in a hole. Olivia Dilling made 5 saves.

Sussex Hamilton 5 Fond du Lac 0
Halftime 0-3
Sussex Hamilton is #8 ranked in Division 1
Girls continued to battle with it being back to back games and their 4th game of the week. Back to FVA Conference action on Tuesday at Marian for Youth Night.
.
Brookfield Invitational
Franklin 1 Fond du Lac 0
Halftime 0-1
Defensive unit played well. Shifted and cleared the ball better than how we have been playing. Had great ideas up top, but just couldn’t connect on anything to put the ball in the back of the net. We are progressing in games on what we are working on in practice. Back to Brookfield East tomorrow to face Sussex Hamilton.
.
Fond du Lac 0 Oshkosh West 0
Began the game relaxed and couldn’t get anything going in the 1st half. Our spacing and decision making was better in the 2nd half. Hope we can build off that going into our 2 tournament games this weekend. Olivia Dilling with 3 saves.
JV Oshkosh West 7 Fond du Lac JV2 0

Plymouth 3 Fond du Lac 0
0-1 @ halftime
Best team we’ve faced so far this season in #2 Division 3 Plymouth. We played our best towards the end of the 1st half and beginning of 2nd half. Began to connect passes and get momentum going forward. Great play tonight in Rachel Cederholm, Gillian Schwartz, and Delaney Sponholz. Olivia Dilling made 8 saves.

Fond du Lac 0 Winneconne (Ranked #8 – Division 3) 0
We had some girls play some bigger minutes for us and it was good to see them out there competing. What we’ve been working on in practice is beginning to transition into game play. Our defense did a much better job staying compact and communicating within one another. I’d like to recognize the play of Brooklyn Wood, McKayla Blaine, Ari Rademann, and Zoey Goeckerman.
.
Fond du Lac 3 Appleton East 1
HT 2-1
Wins aren’t always going to be pretty, but we got it done. We came out flat and went down 1-0 early, but started to get our attacking movement down towards the end of the 1st half and into the 2nd half. Aurora Santana played an overall great game for us in the midfield.
1st half goals: Aurora Santana, Hateya Zehren (assisted by McKayla Blaine)
2nd half goal: Zoey Goeckerman
JV won 3-0 Sydney Rose with the hat trick
.
Hartford 3 Fond du Lac 2
1-1 HT
We played really well in the 1st half and had some great opportunities. Sarai had a nice combination of an overlap on the left side and made the cross in the box and it ricocheted off Hateya Zehren to Aurora Santana on the weak side for our 1st half goal. 2nd half we didn’t have as much energy or intensity and allowed Hartford to come at us with their attack. With 7 minutes left in the game Brooklyn Wood scored on a breakaway. Hartford got one back within the next minute. We resume FVA play on Tuesday.

Fond du Lac 5 Appleton West 1
HT: 1-1
What a fun, windy, and rainy game for our first conference game. Great back and forth battle 1st half. 2nd half we began to piece our passes and runs on the ball together to put some of those shots past the goalie. Besides an own goal our defensive back 4 and goalie played well in the elements. Aurora Santana had 2 goals. Brooklyn Wood had 2 goals. Francesca Parker finished the scoring for us. Sarai Draves and Gabby Born each had an assist. Great team win to begin conference play.

Kenosha Tremper 2 Fond du Lac 1
Half: 1-1
We came out with an early lead from a mile high goal from Delaney Sponholz. We played flat once getting the lead and just couldn’t raise our energy level. Tremper scored 2 late goals in the 2nd half.

We came out and improved on situations that gave us trouble in our first game. Our defending was much better, which meant we weren’t chasing players and we could conserve our energy as the game went along. It was great to get senior, Gabby Born back in the line up for us because of her speed and bringing 2 defenders on her to make other teammates available. Brooklyn Wood, with her 1st career goal tied the game up for us with a great upper 90 shot. Sheboygan North was able to convert 2 late goals in the 1st half due to quick transition. We played even with them in the 2nd half and although the result isn’t what we wanted we became a better team.
