Fond du Lac ended up fourth with 63 points. Slinger won the girls sectional title with 89.5 points.

Annie Moore paced the Cardinals, winning both the 800- and 1,600-meter runs to qualify for state. Moore finished with a time of 2:20.85 in the 800 and 5:14.27 in the 1,600.

Following her victory in the mile, Moore talked about how she was able to come on strong at the end and pull out the victory. “It was hard, but that’s basically what I’ve been running all season so I figured it would be,” Moore said. “I just ran with everyone in front of me because they were going my pace and at the end I just kicked and I passed them.”
