OSHKOSH – The Fond du Lac boys track and field team finished in fourth place at the season-opening Oshkosh High School Invitational (Boys Large School) held at the Kolf Center in Oshkosh on Tuesday evening.

The Cardinals scored 67.5 points as a unit. Stevens Point won the invitational with 83.5 points.

Noah Tagliapietra paced Fond du Lac with a first-place finish in the 1,600-meter run (4:26.10), while Trey Halfmann won the 60-meter dash (7.17).

The 4X400-meter relay team finished third (3:29.19), as did Eddie Negron in the long jump (21-01.50).

Fond du Lac’s 4X200-meter relay was fourth (1:36.11). Luke Curran was fourth in the 400-meter dash (52.37), Jimmie Diener tied for fourth in the high jump (6-00.00) and Negron also took fourth in the triple jump (41-07.75).

Devon Krzanowski was fifth in the shot put (48-09.00) and Peyton Nett took fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.55).
