Jack Nussbaum was a three sport letterman in football, basketball and track, earning 5 letters during his high school career.  Along with teammates Kenny Wilderman, Al Esther and Jon Brown, he was one of the mainstays of the 1959-61 football and basketball teams. As quarterback his senior year, he was recognized with All-State and All-Conference honors.  Jack helped lead the 1960 football team to a Top 3 ranking in the state.  Considered by many to be a top “pro type” quarterback, he set two conference passing records: Most Passes Attempted and Most Passes Completed.  He missed setting the conference record for Most Passing Yards by only 30 yards while passing for 10 TDs.  As a starter in Basketball for both his Junior and Senior years, he earned All-Conference recognition for 2 years in a row.

Upon graduation, Jack attended Indiana University on a football scholarship, where he played from 1961-63 and graduated with a BA in Chemistry and an MBA in Marketing.

After a long and distinguished military career of over 23 years, Jack retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Infantry.  A decorated combat veteran, he was awarded two Bronze Stars, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge while serving in Vietnam.
