The Most Dramatic 2017 WIAA Division 1 semifinal

The most dramatic semifinal loss was suffered by Donte Johnson in the Division 1 heavyweight bracket.

Johnson went toe-to-toe with defending state champion Blaze Beltran of Pewaukee, sending the match into overtime tied at 1. But off a restart in the extra session, Beltran was able to get Johnson to the mat for a takedown and claim the 3-1 win.

Donte Johnson wrestles Quinn Meinerz of Hartford Union 10 am Saturday – the winner of this match will wrestle the winner of the Dan Cole of Ashwaubenon vs EJ Mastrocola of Waterford match for 3^rd Place Saturday afternoon.
