Fond du Lac girls volleyball defeated Manitowoc Lincoln, 25-22, 25-15, 25-20, in a WIAA Division 1 regional volleyball match Thursday night. The win sends the sixth-seeded Cardinals into a regional final at West Bend West on Saturday night. West Bend West toppled Sheboygan South in three sets for its win. It’s the first time since 2013 that Fond du Lac has advanced past the first round, despite being the better seed in their opening matches each of the last three years.
The leader of the Cardinals’ offensive attack was junior outside hitter Monica Dreifuerst, who totaled 15 kills and also had a team-high three aces.
