Spartan Invite: The Fond du Lac boys track and field team dominated the competition en route to a first-place finish at an invitational hosted by West Bend West.
The Cardinals scored 146 points as a squad to easily best second-place Mequon Homestead (72).
Fond du Lac’s Trey Halfmann won the 200-meter dash (22.30), while Noah Tagliapietra won the 3,200-meter run (9:16.64) — breaking the school record in the process.
The 4X400-meter relay team of Halfmann, Zach Schmit, Luke Curran and Kyle Marcoe was first (3:28.12), as was the 4X800-meter relay of Hunter Kollmann, Schmit, Ben Schmitz and Tagliapietra (8:19.93).
Andrew Stone was victorious in the shot put (59-03.00) and discus throw (163-04).
Marcoe was second in the 400-meter dash and Curran took third. Kiernan Koepke was third in the 1,600-meter run and Adam Hopper took third in the 110-meter hurdles.
The 4X100-meter relay was third, as was the 4X200-meter relay. Devon Krzanowski was third in the discus and Eddie Negron took second in the triple jump and third in the long jump.
