STEVENS POINT – The Fond du Lac boys track and field team won the Point Invitational on Saturday at UW-Stevens Point, scoring 74 points as a unit.

The Cardinals edged Appleton North, which scored 70 points.

Noah Tagliapietra finished first in the 3,200-meter run (9:32.82) to pace Fond du Lac, while the 4X400-meter dash was also first (3:30.16).

Andrew Stone took second in the shot put (56-11.25), while Donte Johnson (50-09.75) and Devon Krznawoski (49-08.75) were fifth and sixth, respectively.

Trey Halfmann took second in the 60-meter dash (7.24) and Adam Cudworth was seventh (7.46).

Jimmie Diener was third in the high jump (5-10.00) and Eddie Negron took seventh in the long jump (20-00.50) and triple jump (40-05.50).

Kyle Marcoe (53.38) and Luke Curran (53.41) were fourth and fifth in the 400-meter dash, respectively, while Alex Balthazor was seventh (54.40).

Ben Schmitz took fourth in the 800-meter run (2:08.56) and the 4X200-meter dash was sixth (1:38.81).
