FOND DU LAC – Ally Gietzel scored 26 points and went 6-of-6 from the free-throw line in the second half to lead Fond du Lac to a 58-46 win in a nonconference girls basketball game over New London on Thursday night.
Megan Dille scored all nine of her points in the first half as the Cardinals grabbed a slim 27-26 lead at intermission. Gietzel then got things cranked up in the second half, scoring 19 points as Fond du Lac pulled away. The Cardinals went 15-of-18 from the free-throw line to help seal the win.
Leah Porath scored 23 points to lead New London.
