The Fond du Lac co-op senior forward scored a goal and had an assist in the Warbirds’ 4-0 win over University School of Milwaukee co-op in an Eastern Shores Conference tournament semifinal last Wednesday. Tighe also played an integral role in Fond du Lac co-op’s 3-1 win over Appleton United in the ESC tournament championship game on Saturday, which gave the Warbirds the 2016-17 Eastern Shores Conference title. Tighe was named an All-ESC honorable mention this past weekend as well.

“I’m more of a defensive offender. I normally stay back and help the defense, but when I have time I go up there and score. I pass the puck a lot, to Hattie (Verstegen). Her and I work well together.”

What’s your No. 1 pet peeve? “When girls skate with no ponytail. Like they just let their hair go. They look like a lion.”
What do you want to do for a living? “I want to be a dental hygienist.”
Why are sports important to you? “They give me something to do in my free time. It keeps me busy and I stay out of trouble. It keeps me in shape.”
What’s your strength as a person? “Definitely my character. I always look on the bright side of things.”
What do you still need to work on? “My attitude. Not getting snippy right away. Just going with the flow to see what turns out before judging.”
Do you have any pre-game rituals? “On the ice, when we’re doing our little pep talk right before the game, I always do ‘Can I get a hell yeah?’ And then the team goes ‘hell yeah.'”
