FOND DU LAC – Ally Gietzel scored her 1,000th career varsity point, but the Fond du Lac girls basketball team fell 55-43 to Appleton East in Fox Valley Association play on Saturday night.
Gietzel, just a junior, scored 15 points to lead the Cardinals and hit the 1,000-point milestone.
Aleah Wendels added 13 points for Fond du Lac, which trailed by six points at halftime and couldn’t stage a rally against the Patriots.
