Coach Glen McBride’s thoughts

“He’s one of those guys you love to coach. He’s come a long way. He showed promise as a freshman, but not nearly as much as some of these kids that come in. He really took it on himself to train this offseason and dropped his fall sport and everything. … He’s been pointed out by officials and other coaches for his positive sportsmanship. A desire to get better and the ability to work hard has really taken him a long way.”

Cannon’s thoughts

“I’m fairly competitive, so I guess I’d say what makes me good is just racing against all the other guys on the team during practices and wanting to beat them. It’s fun racing against each other and we kind of push each other.”
