How do you define success in swimming & diving? Sometimes it isn’t just the final score. Case in point: tonight, although we were easily outscored by Neenah, the guys managed to hit best times/scores (including first time in the event) an amazing 30/36 individual events. Even more amazing, this is not just season best but career best. This doesn’t even include Bill Schultz who dropped about 12 seconds in the 200 free and about 30 seconds in the 500 free from our first meet this season.
Charlie Quast who crushed his best diving score (over 180) and took 2nd against an always strong Neenah dive team.
Special note to Josh Kolstad and John Blau for swimming 50 fly for the first time. Also, Thane Nelson swimming the 500 (1/3 of way to varsity letter!). Carter scoring 131.25 in diving in his first ever competition. Elijah and John swimming the 100 free for the first time. Billy K for swimming the 500 for the first time and hitting a varsity letter time (Woo Hoo!).
Kole dropped over a second in the 50 for a letter time of 25.91, Blake breaks :30 in the 50 for the first time and then leads off the relay in 28.83. Awesome!
