FOND DU LAC – St. Mary’s Springs responded to an early deficit with three unanswered goals as the Ledgers knocked off rival Fond du Lac, 3-1, in a Badgerland Conference contest at the Blue Line Ice Arena on Friday night.

Mitchell Grebe’s power play goal with about 2 ½ minutes left in the opening period tied the score at 1, while Kaine Mertens scored the go-ahead goal in the second period.

Zach Welsch’s unassisted goal in the third period capped the scoring.

Grebe and Mertens also picked up assists in the game for Springs.

Ryan Sabel scored of an assist from Henry Lange for Fond du Lac’s goal.

T.J. Draves stopped 30 shots in goal for the Cardinals, while Colin Ahern made 13 saves for the Ledgers
