MADISON – The Fond du Lac boys track and field team finished in first place at the Madison West Relays (Class B) at Camp Randall Sports Complex.

The Cardinals scored 79 points as a team to win the meet, beating out second-place Waukesha Catholic Memorial (67.25).

Noah Tagliapietra paced Fond du Lac by taking first place in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 9 minutes, 32.17 seconds, while Andrew Stone was first in the shot put (59-01.75).

Trey Halfmann finished third in the 55-meter dash (6.70), while Adam Cudworth was seventh (6.83). Luke Curran took third in the 400-meter dash (52.96) and Kiernan Koepke was sixth in the 1,600-meter run (4:47.84).

Peyton Nett was seventh in the 55-meter hurdles (8.47).

The 4X100-meter relay team of Levi Burns, Adam Hopper, Joe Kuber and Cudworth was second (45.97), while the 4X200-meter relay team of Burns, Zach Schmidt, Hopper and Alex Balthazor was third (1:36.73).

The 4X400-meter relay of Halfmann, Schmidt, Curran and Hunter Kollmann was second (3:32.62). The 4X800-meter relay of Tagliapietra, Kollmann, Jeffrey Heuer and Ben Schmitz was third (8:34.35).

Alex Tam was third in the pole vault (11-06.00), while Kuber was seventh in the high jump (J5-08.00). Devon Krzanowski was sixth in the shot put (48-08.75).
